Hippocras (Ypocras) - A medieval recipe for Mulled Wine - Originally made with honey this drink is a little different from a modern mulled wine.
Hippocras was made using honey, however, sugar became cheaper and more available, and it became the more popular choice. For best results, use runny honey or brown sugar, which will also be perfect for a vegan version. White sugar is not recommended for making Hippocras.
